A move from North Park to La Jolla caused many art lovers to become skeptical as to whether Thumbprint Gallery could survive the transition from urban to urbane in the distinctly high end neighborhood. Johnny, on the other hand, was a resident DJ and art curator at downtown San Diego's Bar Basic, where Paul put on one of his first shows. A few months later, Paul asked Johnny to DJ for a pop-up show, and the rest is history. After that show closed, the building manager inquired about their interest in creating a space all their own within 8Teencenter (now Queen Bee’s), a place where the Thumbprint Gallery’s Showcases for All Things Art thumbprintgallerysd.com Because art i$ Free 62 TAE MAGAZINE
